How To Overcome Facebook Addiction

How To Overcome Facebook Addiction

According to a study in the US, 70% of employees admitted to “checking” Facebook before starting work.

Addiction to Facebook is becoming more and more serious, not only adversely affecting the workplace business, but also negatively affecting individual users due to the risk of distraction, reduced work efficiency, and even loss of their job.

Not only that, but Facebook also makes social relationships more distant when people almost only focus on the phone to interact virtually, but forget about relatives or friends around.

Today, in my blog, there are ways to help users control their frequent use of Facebook.

1. Do not keep Facebook always in login state

The feature of Facebook “people with a drug addiction” is constantly surfing the News feed to check for any new information. If you’re always logged in to Facebook on your phone or laptop, the urge to check new messages and messages is inevitable.

Quitting Facebook is a good way to help users turn an unconscious, automatic habit into a conscious effort. Try to log in to Facebook for a short period, like a break or lunch break. Then, when studying or working again, log out immediately.

2. Turn off notifications from Facebook

Another thing to do if you want to leave Facebook is that users have to turn off notifications from Facebook.

Imagine, when you are concentrating on studying and working and your phone or computer shows that a comment is posted on your wall. It will be difficult for us to focus immediately.

Turning off these notifications helps users avoid being lured and “tempted” to see what people are saying. Users can also choose to let Facebook send these notifications to their email and check at the appropriate time without having to log in to Facebook.

3. Think of other things when you want to use Facebook

Whenever users feel like “clicking” on the Facebook icon, they get up, go out for a coffee, or take a walk around the office.

In addition, users can also participate in some sports activities and divert their interest outside of Facebook. This is the same approach as for a smoker: they reduce their addiction by chewing gum when they “hit”.

In fact, Facebook has been proven to be more addictive than cigarettes or alcoholic beverages.

However, users should also apply this “detox” so that reasonable. If the workplace is not convenient to go out, the user can sit in a seat, do gentle physical activity, or turn to ask a colleague to sit next to a few short questions related to work.

4. Using Facebook consciously

Before, we used Facebook as a habit and stuck with it all day. Now, use Facebook with specific purposes and limitations.

Just post a comment or answer to someone, then log out immediately. Don’t let yourself be free to log in and surf Facebook indefinitely.

Think of Facebook as a specific task on your to-do list and have a specific time frame for that. Better yet, use Facebook when taking a break.

5. Switch to social networks that are less “addictive” than Facebook

If you’re too addicted to Facebook, you can use other social networking sites to stay in touch and share.

There are many social networks that help users “gossip” fast and relax the mind without spending a lot of time, like Facebook, such as Instagram or Zalo. These sites are still addictive, but to a lesser degree.

However, it should not happen to “avoid coconut shells, encounter coconut shells” when “dodging” Facebook and turning to “addicted” to these social networks.

Because the attractiveness of Facebook is so great, we are also used to sticking and “living” with it every day. So giving up this habit will also be very difficult.

Users need determination and perseverance in these “remedies”, trying to leave the “virtual world” to ensure a better quality of life.

Above are the ways to overcome Facebook Addiction. Hopefully, they can help!
